Qbal 500mcg Injection for IM/IV Use

Qbal 500mcg Injection is a medication used to treat peripheral neuropathies, including diabetic neuropathy, in adult patients. It is also indicated for the management of megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency in adults.

How It Works:

• Peripheral Neuropathies: The usual dosage for adults is 1 ampoule (500mcg of mecobalamin) daily, administered intramuscularly or intravenously three times a week. The dosage may be adjusted based on the patient’s age and symptoms.
• Megaloblastic Anemia: The usual dosage for adults is 1 ampoule (500mcg of mecobalamin) daily, administered intramuscularly or intravenously three times a week. After about two months of medication, the dose should be reduced to a single administration of 1 ampoule at intervals of 1 to 3 months for maintenance therapy.

Important Information:

• Contraindications: This medication is not suitable for patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to methylcobalamin, neonates, or premature infants, and those with existing hypervitaminosis.
• Administration: A sensitivity history should be obtained from the patient prior to administration. An intradermal test dose is recommended before administering vitamin B12 to patients who may be sensitive to cobalamins.
• Absorption and Excretion: Oral absorption is unreliable, especially in patients with pernicious anemia or other conditions resulting in malabsorption of vitamin B12. Intravenous administration results in rapid excretion with minimal liver storage.

Storage and Packaging:

• Shelf Life: Qbal 500mcg Tablets have a shelf life of three years, while the Injection has a shelf life of two years.
• Storage: Protect from heat, light, and moisture. Store below 30°C.
