Celebrex 200mg capsules are designed to provide symptomatic relief for adults suffering from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Each capsule contains 200mg of celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor.

Key Features:

• Indications: Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
• Dosage: The usual recommended daily dose is 200mg taken once daily or in two divided doses. For some patients, an increased dose of 200mg twice daily may be necessary for better efficacy.
• Special Populations:
• Elderly: Initially use 200mg per day, and if needed, increase to 200mg twice daily. Particular caution should be exercised in elderly patients with a body weight less than 50kg.
• Pediatric Population: Not indicated for use in children.
• CYP2C9 Poor Metabolizers: Administer with caution and consider reducing the dose to half the lowest recommended dose.
• Hepatic Impairment: Initiate treatment at half the recommended dose.
• Renal Impairment: Contains lactose; patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.

Important Considerations:

• Cardiovascular Risks: The cardiovascular risks of celecoxib may increase with dose and duration of exposure. Use the shortest duration possible and the lowest effective daily dose.
• Monitoring: Patients should be adequately hydrated and consideration should be given to monitoring of renal function after initiation of concomitant therapy, and periodically thereafter.
