Betaderm N Ointment is a topical cream that combines the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of betamethasone valerate with the broad-spectrum bactericidal action of neomycin sulfate. This preparation is particularly effective for treating various skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis. It is also useful for managing secondary bacterial infections and promoting the regeneration of new skin in wounds and ulcers.
The ointment is available in a 10-gram tube and should be applied to the affected skin areas as a thin layer, ideally 3 to 4 times daily. For chronic conditions, the frequency of application can be gradually reduced until the cream is used only once a week. However, it is crucial to follow the physician’s instructions for the best results.
Betaderm N is generally well-tolerated, but prolonged use or high doses may lead to side effects such as Cushing’s syndrome, acne, and thinning or dilatation of blood vessels, especially when occlusive dressings are used. It is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to its components and should not be used for treating otitis externa with a perforated eardrum or skin lesions caused by viral or fungal infections.
This ointment should not be extensively used during pregnancy, and long-term continuous topical therapy should be avoided to prevent the development of resistant microorganisms. Store the product below 30°C, away from light and moisture, and keep it out of reach of children.
Betaderm N is a versatile and effective treatment option for various skin conditions, making it a valuable addition to your skincare routine.
