How It Works

Domperidone, the active ingredient in Vomilux, increases the contractions of the stomach and bowel. This helps to move food through the digestive system more quickly, reducing the likelihood of nausea and vomiting.

Uses

• Nausea and Vomiting: Vomilux is prescribed to treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy or other conditions affecting the digestive system.
• Heart Function: It can affect the heart, especially in the elderly or those with pre-existing heart conditions like rhythm disorders or congestive heart failure.
• Electrolyte Imbalance: Use with caution if you have an electrolyte imbalance, as it may worsen the condition.
• Prolactin Imbalance: It can cause an imbalance in prolactin levels, leading to menstrual cycle disturbances in women and breast tissue growth in men.

Side Effects

While generally well-tolerated, Vomilux can cause some side effects, including:

• Swelling of the face, lips, eyelids, tongue, hands, and feet.
• Difficulty breathing.
• Skin rash.
• Convulsions.
• Heart rhythm disorders.
• Irregular heartbeat.
• Dry mouth.
• Chest pain.
• Dizziness and fainting.
• Extreme tiredness.

Dosage and Administration

The dosage of Vomilux varies depending on the condition being treated and the patient’s age. For adults and children over 12 years old with a body weight over 35 kg, the recommended dose is 60 mg twice daily. For children with a body weight between 15-35 kg, the dose is 30 mg twice daily. For those under 15 kg, it is not recommended.

Storage

Store Vomilux in a dry place at or below 25°C, away from direct sunlight.
