Zeldox Capsules for Schizophrenia and Bipolar Mania

Zeldox is a medication used to treat schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders. It is also indicated for the short-term treatment of acute manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder. The capsules come in four strengths: 20 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, and 80 mg of ziprasidone hydrochloride monohydrate.

Each capsule should be taken with food and swallowed whole without chewing, crushing, or opening. The recommended dose for schizophrenia is 40 mg twice daily, which can be adjusted based on individual clinical status up to a maximum of 80 mg twice daily. For bipolar mania, the recommended dose is also 40 mg twice daily.

Zeldox capsules contain lactose monohydrate as an excipient. They are supplied in different colored capsules marked with the Pfizer logo and the corresponding strength (e.g., “ZDX 20” for 20 mg capsules).
