Anacaine HC Cream: Relief for Anal Discomfort

Anacaine HC Cream is designed to provide both anti-inflammatory and anesthetic relief for itching, pain, soreness, and discomfort in the anal area. This cream is particularly effective for conditions such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and pruritus ani.

Each gram of Anacaine HC Cream contains 30 mg of Lidocaine Hydrochloride and 5 mg of Hydrocortisone Acetate. Lidocaine works by inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for impulse initiation and conduction, thereby providing local anesthetic action. Hydrocortisone acetate helps to reduce inflammatory and pruritic manifestations, offering significant relief from discomfort.

To use Anacaine HC Cream, gently insert the applicator tip into the affected area around the anal opening. Apply a thin layer twice daily as directed by your physician. Be cautious not to insert the applicator completely into the anus or rectum.

While using Anacaine HC Cream, you might experience transient stinging or burning sensations, blanching, or erythema. If you notice any signs of infection, discontinue use immediately. Systemic absorption can occur with extensive treatment areas, potentially leading to suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Avoid prolonged use or application with occlusive dressings.

Anacaine HC Cream is not recommended for patients with a history of hypersensitivity to its ingredients. It is also important to exercise caution in patients with impaired hepatic function and those taking Class I antiarrhythmic drugs.

Pregnancy Category C: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Lactating mothers should exercise caution as it is unknown whether this drug is excreted in human milk.

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established. Use with caution in patients receiving other corticosteroids or immunosuppressant drugs.

Store Anacaine HC Cream at a controlled room temperature between 15°C to 30°C, protecting it from freezing. Keep out of reach of children.

Each tube contains 30 grams of cream, and a detachable applicator is included in each package.
