Amisulpride 100mg Tablets.
Amisulpride 100mg tablets are used to treat acute and chronic schizophrenic disorders. These conditions are characterized by prominent positive symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, and thought disorders, as well as negative symptoms like blunted affect and emotional and social withdrawal. The medication also helps regulate secondary negative symptoms and affective disorders, including depressive mood.
Each tablet contains 100mg of amisulpride and 98.75mg of lactose monohydrate. The tablets are white to off-white, round, and have a break line on one side with ‘100’ on the other.
Common side effects include somnolence and acute dystonia, which can manifest as spasms, torticollis, oculogyric crisis, or trismus. These symptoms are generally reversible with antiparkinsonian medication. Uncommon side effects include seizures and tardive dyskinesia, characterized by rhythmic, involuntary movements primarily of the tongue and/or face, which may occur after long-term administration.
For the treatment of predominantly negative symptoms, doses ranging from 50 to 300mg per day are recommended. The incidence of extrapyramidal symptoms remains very low at these doses. If you experience any unusual symptoms, consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
