Predmide-P is a versatile ophthalmic suspension designed to treat nonpurulent blepharitis and blepharoconjunctivitis, including seborrheal, staphylococcal, and allergic forms. It is also indicated for nonpurulent conjunctivitis, both allergic and bacterial.

The suspension contains **sulphacetamide sodium**, which exerts a bacteriostatic effect against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms by restricting the synthesis of folic acid, essential for bacterial growth. **Prednisolone acetate**, a glucocorticoid, effectively counters the allergic and inflammatory manifestations of blepharitis. **Phenylephrine HCl**, an alpha sympathetic receptor agonist, rapidly whitens engorged vessels in the eye and lid, providing immediate relief.

Predmide-P is available in a 5ml suspension and is marketed by Kobec Health Sciences. It is a preservative-free formulation, making it suitable for sensitive eyes. However, it is contraindicated in acute herpes simplex (dendritic keratitis), purulent untreated infections, vaccinia, varicella, and most other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva. It is also contraindicated in ocular tuberculosis and fungal diseases of the eye, as well as in individuals with hypersensitivity to any component of the medication.

When using Predmide-P, it is essential to monitor intraocular pressure, as extended use may cause increased intraocular pressure in susceptible individuals. Additionally, long-term use of topical corticosteroids can lead to corneal and scleral thinning, potentially causing perforation in individuals with pre-existing thin tissue.
