Dopacin

Dopacin Injection 5ml: This medication contains dopamine, which works by increasing blood flow to the muscles and enhancing the heart’s pumping efficiency. It is used to improve hemodynamic status in patients experiencing distributive shock or reduced cardiac output. Dopacin is administered intravenously and should be diluted in a sterile parenteral solution before use. It is essential to address hypovolemia, acidosis, and hypoxia before initiating treatment, as these conditions can affect the medication’s effectiveness. The recommended starting dosage is 2 to 5 mcg/kg/minute, and the dose can be titrated based on hemodynamic response and tolerability, up to a maximum of 50 mcg/kg/minute. Dopacin is contraindicated in patients with pheochromocytoma and should be used with caution in other conditions.
