Description

Calypsol 500mg Injection: A General Anesthetic for Major Surgical Procedures.

Calypsol 500mg injection is a powerful general anesthetic used in major surgical procedures. It helps patients remain pain-free and calm during operations, allowing medical professionals to perform complex surgeries without distress. This medication is administered under the close supervision of a healthcare professional in a hospital setting.

Uses of Calypsol

General Anesthesia: Calypsol induces a reversible loss of consciousness, making it ideal for surgeries that require patients to be fully anesthetized.

Dosage

  • Intravenous Induction: Adults: 1-4.5 mg/kg via slow IV injection over 60 seconds. A dose of 2 mg/kg produces surgical anesthesia within 30 seconds, lasting 5-10 minutes. Increments of half to the full induction dose may be repeated as needed for maintenance of anesthesia.
  • Intramuscular Induction: Adults: 6.5-13 mg/kg. A dose of 10 mg/kg produces surgical anesthesia within 3-4 minutes, lasting 12-25 minutes.

How It Works

Calypsol works by causing a reversible loss of consciousness, allowing surgical procedures to be carried out without pain and distress. It is a noncompetitive N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist that blocks glutamate, producing a cataleptic-like state where the patient is withdrawn from the surrounding environment.
