Dalacin V is a vaginal cream designed to treat bacterial vaginosis, a common bacterial infection of the vagina. It contains clindamycin phosphate, an antibiotic that effectively stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. This cream is suitable for both non-pregnant women and pregnant women during their second and third trimesters.

How It Works

Dalacin V works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, thereby reducing symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. It is applied directly to the vagina using a disposable applicator, ensuring targeted treatment.

Usage Instructions

1. **Application**: Remove the cap from the cream tube and screw on a disposable plastic applicator.

2. **Filling the Applicator**: Roll the tube from the bottom, squeezing gently until the plunger stops moving. This indicates that the applicator is full.

3. **Insertion**: Lie on your back and insert the applicator into your vagina.

4. **Duration**: Use the cream every night for 7 consecutive nights. Your doctor may recommend a shorter course of treatment based on your symptoms.

Important Information

• Allergies: Do not use Dalacin V if you are allergic to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any other ingredients in the cream.
• Precautions: If you have a history of regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, or antibiotic-associated colitis, consult your doctor before using Dalacin V.
• Side Effects: Benzyl alcohol in the cream may cause allergic reactions or mild local irritation. If you experience severe, prolonged, or bloody diarrhea, inform your doctor immediately.

Ingredients

Dalacin V contains clindamycin phosphate (20 mg/g) in a white cream base. Other ingredients include sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, propylene glycol, stearic acid, cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl esters wax, liquid paraffin, purified water, and benzyl alcohol.
