Gonal-F: A Solution for Fertility Issues

Gonal-F is a medication used to stimulate the production of sperm in men and to help women develop follicles for ovulation and assisted reproductive technologies like in vitro fertilization. It contains the active ingredient follitropin alfa, which is a recombinant human follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). When administered with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), Gonal-F can help men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism by stimulating spermatogenesis.

For women, Gonal-F is particularly useful for those who are not ovulating and have not responded to treatment with clomiphene citrate. It also supports the development of multiple follicles in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies, such as IVF.

Gonal-F is available in multi-dose vials containing 600 IU or 1200 IU of follitropin alfa. Each vial is reconstituted with bacteriostatic water for injection and may contain up to 10% oxidized follitropin alfa under current storage conditions.
