How It Works

Itrazole works by inhibiting the fungal enzyme 14?-demethylase, which is essential for converting lanosterol to ergosterol, a critical component of fungal cell membranes. This inhibition disrupts the cell membrane, leading to increased permeability and ultimately causing the death of the fungal cells.

Usage and Administration

Itrazole capsules are taken orally, with peak plasma concentrations reached within two to five hours. The absolute oral bioavailability is approximately 55%, and the drug accumulates in plasma during multiple dosing, reaching steady-state concentrations within about 15 days.
