Common Side Effects

The most common side effects of ofloxacin ophthalmic include eye burning or stinging, eye redness or itching, swelling of the eye or face, feeling like something is in your eye, sensitivity to light, blurry vision, watery eyes or dry eyes, and eye pain. While these side effects are generally mild, it’s important to inform your healthcare provider if they bother you.

Serious Side Effects

Less common but serious side effects include severe allergic reactions. If you experience symptoms such as breathing problems, a racing heart, fever, swollen lymph nodes, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, trouble swallowing, itching, skin rash, hives, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or stomach cramps, you should stop using the medication and seek medical help immediately.

Who Should Not Use It

Ofloxacin ophthalmic is not suitable for people who are allergic to ofloxacin, Ocuflox, or any other fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Additionally, individuals with allergies to any of the ingredients in the specific product should avoid using it.

Interactions

There are no known interactions between ofloxacin ophthalmic and foods or drinks. However, heavy drinking can slow down your immune response and make it harder for your body to fight infection.
