Butalex + INH: Effective Treatment for Theileriosis in Cattle.
Butalex + INH is a clear red-brown solution designed for intramuscular injection. Each 1 ml contains 50 mg of buparvaquone, making it a potent treatment for Theileriosis, also known as East Coast Fever, Corridor Disease, and tropical theileriosis, in cattle. This condition is caused by various strains of Theileria parva parva, T. parva bovis, T. parva lawrencei, T. annulata, T. mutans, and T. orientalis.
Butalex + INH is highly effective against both the schizont and piroplasm stages of Theileria species. It is indicated for the treatment of animals showing clinical signs of the disease, as well as for metaphylactic treatment during the incubation period and prophylactic treatment of contact animals.
The recommended dose is 2.5 mg of buparvaquone per kilogram of body weight, which corresponds to 1 ml of Butalex + INH per 20 kg of body weight. The injection should be administered intramuscularly in the deep neck muscle. If the dose volume exceeds 10 ml, it should be divided and administered to different sites. Generally, one dose is sufficient for treatment, but in severe cases, a second treatment may be required 48-72 hours after the first dosing.
Butalex + INH should not be given by intravenous or subcutaneous injection. Localized, painless swelling may occur at the injection site. Theileriosis can severely depress the immune system, so any vaccination should be delayed until the animal has recovered.
Store Butalex + INH below 25°C, protected from light. Do not freeze. It is available in a 20 ml multi-dose glass vial.
This treatment helps ensure the health and well-being of your cattle by effectively combating Theileriosis, a significant disease affecting livestock.
