Flagyl 400mg Tablets for Infection Treatment
Flagyl 400mg tablets are used to prevent and treat infections caused by anaerobic bacteria. Each tablet contains 400mg of metronidazole, an effective antibiotic that targets a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms, including species of *Bacteroides*, *Fusobacteria*, *Clostridia*, *Eubacteria*, anaerobic cocci, and *Gardnerella vaginalis*. It is also active against protozoa such as *Trichomonas*, *Entamoeba histolytica*, *Giardia lamblia*, and *Balantidium coli*.
Flagyl is indicated for various infections, including post-operative infections, septicaemia, bacteraemia, peritonitis, brain abscess, necrotizing pneumonia, osteomyelitis, puerperal sepsis, pelvic abscess, pelvic cellulitis, and post-operative wound infections. It is also used to treat urogenital trichomoniasis in both males and females.
The tablets are film-coated, white to off-white, circular biconvex, and impressed with ‘FLAGYL 400’ on one face. They are suitable for both adults and children, providing effective prophylaxis and treatment for infections where anaerobic bacteria are identified or suspected to be the cause.
