Robaxin Muscle Relaxer

Robaxin is a muscle relaxer that helps block nerve impulses, reducing pain sensations sent to your brain. It is commonly used in conjunction with rest and physical therapy to treat skeletal muscle conditions such as pain or injury. Robaxin injection is sometimes used to treat tetanus, which causes painful muscle tightening.

Important Information:

• Allergies: Do not use Robaxin if you are allergic to methocarbamol.
• Medical Conditions: Inform your doctor if you have myasthenia gravis.
• Dosage: You may need to reduce your dose after the first 2 or 3 days of treatment.
• Side Effects: Robaxin can impair your thinking or reactions. Be cautious when driving or performing tasks that require alertness. Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of this medicine.

Available Forms:

• Tablets: Available in 500 mg and 750 mg doses, these tablets are light orange, round, and film-coated.
• Capsules: The 750 mg dose is available in orange capsule-shaped, film-coated tablets.

Dosage Instructions:

For intravenous and intramuscular use only, the total adult dosage should not exceed 30 mL (3 vials) per day for more than 3 consecutive days, except in the treatment of tetanus. If the condition persists, a like course may be repeated after a drug-free interval of 48 hours. Dosage and frequency of injection should be based on the severity of the condition being treated and therapeutic response noted.
