Rheumocam: Effective Pain Relief for Your Pets
Rheumocam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) designed to alleviate pain and inflammation in various animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, and horses. It contains the active substance meloxicam, which works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis to provide anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties.
Indications for Use
- Dogs: Rheumocam is indicated for the alleviation of inflammation and pain in both acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders.
- Cattle: It is used to reduce clinical signs of acute respiratory infection, alleviate diarrhea in calves, and provide supportive therapy in acute mastitis.
- Pigs: Rheumocam is used to reduce lameness and inflammation in non-infectious locomotor disorders and for post-operative pain relief after minor soft tissue surgery.
- Horses: It is used to alleviate pain and inflammation in acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, as well as for post-operative pain relief after surgery.
Contraindications
- Pregnant or Lactating Animals: Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals.
- Gastrointestinal Disorders: Avoid using in animals with gastrointestinal disorders such as irritation and hemorrhage.
- Impaired Hepatic, Cardiac, or Renal Function: Do not use in animals with impaired hepatic, cardiac, or renal function.
- Hypersensitivity: Avoid using in animals with hypersensitivity to meloxicam or any of the excipients.
Administration
- Dosage: The dosage varies depending on the species and condition being treated. Always follow the instructions provided by your veterinarian.
- Administration: Ensure the product is well shaken before use. For dogs, the oral suspension should be administered as directed by your veterinarian. For cattle, the recommended dose is 1.0 mg meloxicam per kilogram body weight, administered approximately 1-2 hours prior to castration.
Storage
- Temperature: Store at 15-30°C.
- Duration: Once opened, use within 3 months.
